This depends on a great deal of factors. First, what kind of soil is it; clay and top soil absorb water at different rates. Second, how long is had mean raining and how deeply saturated the ground is. Lastly, how much vegetation there is and of what kind; different plants absorb water at different rates. All these plus human factors such as water shed management all influence the time it takes for flood waters to recede.
