How is the price of oil effecting the environment?

The price of oil tends to be inversely correlated with the amount of driving people do. The more oil costs, the more expensive it becomes to fill the gas tank, and so the less people drive. There is also a renewed focus on higher efficiency vehicles. As gas becomes more expensive, people want to use less of it, and that is good for the environment.
