Prepare it for what? Fertilizer?
If you’re just looking to make some home-made fertlizer, one easy recipe is a mixture of one tablespoon Epsom salts in a gallon of water. More fertlizers made with household products can be found here: http://frugalliving.about.com/od/doityourself/tp/Homemade_Fertilizer.htm
If you’ve got some manure you’re hoping to use as fertlizer, however, all you need to do is let it compost until it looks like black, crumbly soil, and then it should be ready to spread on your plants. No chemicals needed.
