Personification is a term that means attributing human characteristics or qualities to an inanimate object or abstract idea. Thus, to personify rainforest destruction would mean describing rainforest destruction in terms of human characteristics or emotions. You could say that the rainforest cries in sadness when it experiences destruction, or that it is angry from being so poorly repaid after providing vast resources.
