How is openair construction different from traditional construction?

Open-air construction refers to building shopping centers, malls, or other buildings with open corridors. This allows for natural light and air to flow and cuts back on the cost of lighting and air conditioning/heating. The only problem for this open air model is that it is much more susceptible to harsh climates than indoor malls which are completely enclosed. These outdoor shopping centers are gaining in popularity in climates that can support outdoor walking year-round.
