How often should you replace your carpet to keep you healthy?

As long as the carpet in question is kept clean, you shouldn’t have to replace it for anywhere from 10 to 25 years depending on the brand and type of carpet.

However, if the carpet is suspected to harbor any kind of mold or bacteria (if it has been kept continually damp or may harbor dangerous microbes), it should be replaced immediately, certainly within a year of the suspected infestation.
