How often do you have to replace the battery in hybrid cars, and do you have to pay for it?

Many hybrids, like the Prius, have warranties on their batteries for 100,000 miles or up to 96 months. The batteries can run you about $3,500. Some cab drivers have reported to have their batteries last up to 200,000 miles and unfortunately if your warranty expires you have to fit the bill.
