It depends on the cleanliness of the city’s water. If the test shows that the water complies with pollutant standards, the frequency of tests can be reduced. The opposite applies – if water is highly contaminated, it usually is tested much more often.
They water source also determines frequency. For example, a water source that is to be drinking water or piped into houses is going to be tested much more frequently than water used for municipal cleaning purposes.
