The easiest way for president Obama to do that is to build new nuclear power plants as he already approved 2 new reactors in Georgia. Nuclear is still the best alternative energy today when we factor in energy output and costs. Other projects started harnessing wave power off the coasts of Oregon, which if effective can power 400 homes by 2012. Wind and solar a bit unpredictable compared to wave, but they are heavily investing in these as well, so much so that the cost of wind and solar energy are now competitive with oil.
