Natural black dye can be made using water, tannins and iron. Natural materials can be colored black by first soaking them in a tannic acid solution then placing the material in a solution of iron salt, the second solution makes the pigment darker. What do you need? 15 large acorns, 2 large oak galls, enough lemons to make a cup of lemon juice, rust from nails, sheet metal, pipes or any other iron product and a container to mix it all in.
