At the end of 2009, China was producing 25.1 gigawatts of power from wind. In 2008, it was only 12.1 gigawatts, meaning that in a single year, China increased its wind power output by more than 100%. China’s increased dependence on wind power accounted for nearly a 1/3 of the world’s increase in wind power capacity.
