How much water should I keep stored for emergency?

It is recommended that you store at least one gallon of water per person per day. You should store water for at least three days, but it is recommended that anywhere from 10-30 days is even better, if possible. This water should be used to drink and for food preparation, and an additional .5-1 gallon per day is recommended for hygiene and washing dishes. The emergency water should be stored in tightly covered containers in a cool, dark place, with the water rotated every 6-12 months.
