    Michigan: 1,180 miles cubed or 4,920 km cubed

    Huron: 850 miles cubed or 3,540 km cubed

    Erie: 116 miles cubed or 484 km cubed

    Ontario: 393 miles cubed or 1,640 km cubed

    The great lakes contain almost 21% of the world’s freshwater supply. Only the glacial ice caps at the poles have more water. As a whole, the great lakes hold roughly 5,500 cubic miles of water.
