Obviously, this depends on the size of the dog. But, the average healthy dog should be drinking about 1/2 to 1 ounce per pound. Now puppies, though small, should be drinking at least 1/2 cups of water every two hours, while being closely monitored.
These numbers change, depending on how much excercise your dog gets and often times the wheather.
Tend to your dogs needs and your dog should take care of the rest. Though dogs may drink more than they need too, as long as the dog isn’t drowning, it should regulate itself.
