How much water does it take to produce a box of Kleenex or a ream of copy paper?

Well, there are some paper plants that actually recycle all their water on-site to reduce their production water usage down to zero.  Other plants that do not recycle their water supplies use as much as 300-400 metric tons of water to make one ton of paper.  Since two tons of paper make about 800 reams, that would mean that one ream of paper would require between 7 and 17 gallons of water to make.
