According to chron.com, a can of diet coke has 1 calorie of energy. To process the coke requires about 600 calories, and to make the can requires another 1,600 calories of energy. Coca-cola’s co.’s bottling factories have use a little over a gallon of water to make a 2-liter bottle of soda. Sometimes it can be as high as 132 gallons (500 liters) of water per 2-liter bottle of soda if you add the water used to grow ingredients such as sugar cane.
