How much water can we save by not flushing when we only go pee?

The average toilet flushes anywhere from 1 gallon to 1.6 gallons of water, so you can actually save quite a bit of water by only flushing #2s. You might want to clean your toilet bowl more often though, since the urine sitting in there contains bacteria.

Now after the mandated regulation of new toilets that are produced, the average toilet uses 1.6 gallons per flush. Therefore you wouldn’t flush, then 1.6 gallons of water is how much you would save each time, which adds up to quite a bit of water.
