How much water can we get from rainwater harvesting?

In general, 1″ of rain on 1 square foot of roof produces about .52 gallons of water.  To say how much we can get in other terms would depend on where you are using your rain collection system (a home, a farm, etc.) and how you were using it (personal use, irrigation, etc.)
