how much water and energy does it take to produce meat?

Different animals and the meat derived from them require different amounts of water and energy to produce, but in short, all meat requires significant amounts of both to develop. Beef for example, requires 40 kilocalories of energy input for every 1 kilocalerie of protien produced. Likewise, it takes roughly 100 times as much water to produce 1 kilogram of meat protein than grain protein.
