The National Wildlife Refuge System, which is managed by the US Fish and Wildlife Service, is a system that shows all the land set aside for the nation’s fish, wildlife, and plants. Currently, there are over 150 million acres set aside for America’s wildlife. This system of wildlife refuges have grown tremendously since 1903 when President Roosevelt put the first one in place in Florida.
