    So far this year, the U.S. has harvested 327,270 acres of tobacco, compared to 354,240 in 2009 and 354,490 in 2008.

    In pounds, the U.S. crop has been 822,567,000 lbs in 2009, 800,504,000 lbs in 2008 and 787,653,000 lbs in 2007.


    In rounder numbers, about 350,000 acres of tobacco or 800 million pounds, are harvested per year. You can find more statistics for more products on the Department of Agriculture website below.
