In 2010, the US produced 29,057 million board feet of lumber, a significant decrease from 2006, which saw production levels of 48,732 board feet.  By the end of the year, the gross lumber stock in 2010 was 3,493 million board feet, leaving nearly 26,000 million board feet of lumber for national consumption or for exports.  The link I’ve provided has some interesting information on US lumber manufacturing and consumption.
