How much Styrofoam makes it to landfills every year?

In our nation, styrofoam makes up about 0.25% of the weight of daily waste. This is about 1,369 tons of styrofoam per day, which is a more than a reasonable amount considering how lightweight it is. Styrofoam also takes up to about 30% of the space/volume in landfills in the US as well, more than any other single product. And it takes over 500 years for one single styrofoam cup to decompose.
