How much sleep do you need to allow your body to rest fully during the night?

    Every person is different and requires a different amount of sleep to be well rested.  A very small portion of the adult population actually has a gene that causes them to only need 4 hours of sleep a night to be fully rested.  However most adults need about at least 6-7 hours.  While children need more sleep, some studies have found that for adults, sleeping more than 8 hours a night can actually have some bad effects on health.
