If it’s in a cold climate (where it snows) all it takes is a little elbow grease and nothing more! In areas where the rink needs to be temperature-controlled, the numbers depend on the size of the rink and the type of device used to maintain it. Judging by the fact that ice rinks are a novelty in many towns and cities, and only come around during the holiday season, it is a fairly costly endeavor and energy usage is pretty substantial.
