How much of the produce made in America is shipped elsewhere?

A study and analysis of U.S. produce and trade information performed by Lucier and Pollack reveals that the U.S. exports about 9.6% of their total produce production.  While these numbers are outdated (from 1997), we know that the produce export percentage has been rising since 1990 and that the production of biofuels may bump those numbers up even more (assuming that corn and soy beans grown for ethanol are classified as produce).  Conservatively, these numbers are probably closer to 15 or maybe even 20% by now.
