How much pollution from cars is emmited, on average, each week in Chicago?

There are about 2.23 people per car in the U.S. and the population of Chicago is about 2,896,016. This means that there are around 1,298,661 cars in Chicago, each of which emits in the area of 11,450 pounds of CO2 per year. So, (1,298,661 x 11,450)/52 weeks = 285,955,162.5 pounds of CO2 emitted per week. Some of these numbers had to be estimates, of course, so that answer is only a general idea of the amount of CO2 emitted. For other passenger car pollutants, you can do the same calculations using the data from the first link below.
