How much plastic do we use making plastic bottles?

    Many resources are wasted in the purchase and production of bottled water.  For example, a bottle of water that holds one liter of water, uses up 6.74 liters just to make.  It also uses up one litre of fossil fuels, and releases 1.2 pounds of greenhouse gases.  As far as plastic usage, It takes 2.7 million tons annually to make bottled water.
