Glaciers and permafrost are quickly disappearing in many parts of the world. In Montana’s Glacier National Park there were 150 glaciers in the 19th century, while only 35 now remain. Its famed Grinnell Glacier has lost 90% of its ice. The ice field on Mt. Kilimanjaro lost 80% of its area in the last century.
