How much of the paper production is cardboard?

    According to, within the worldwide paper market, the figures read that 11% are newsprint, 33% is writing and printing paper, and 56% of the production is allocated to the dubious “other papers.” Of these, 80% are cardboard and packing paper, while 20% constitutes toilet paper. Since the worldwide annual production of paper and cardboard yields an estimated 95 million tons of paper and cardboard, approximately 42.5 million tons of this production are classified as cardboard and packing paper.
