Good question, aangelaa, and cool username. Sorry it took so long to answer this, by the way.
It is difficult to put a number on the amount of paper that will be saved, but here are some numbers to give you an idea. Our nation’s hospitals generate around 6,600 tons of waste every day! About 80-85% of that waste is non-hazardous; things like paper, cardboard, food, metal, plastic. One particular hospital in California was able to reduce their production of waste by 52 tons in 2004, and recycled 128 tons of waste, mostly paper, that made up 21% of their total waste. So it would seem like around 20% of hospitals waste is paper. Apply that number to the 6,600 number, and that is 1320 tons of paper that could be saved each year!
I hope this helps!
