The average student produces about 320 pounds of paper waste each year.  This includes books, journals, exam sheets, losse leaf pages, essays, hand wipes, and a myriad of other paper products.  But don’t lose hope!  Some universities have begun instituting mandatory double-sided paper printing policies that have saved them lots of money in paper purchasing and waste disposal.  University of Colorado-Boulder has also implemented a regular weekly recylcing schedule that has reduced their paper waste a whopping 40%.
