15 million trees are turned into toilet paper every year (in the United States.) By using a bidet, we would eliminate this use to some degree, although many use toilet paper to dry off after using a bidet. THis could be avoided by using a towel or washcloth post-bidet, because after all, now you’re cleaned off! THe key would be getting people to use a towel or washcloth instead of toilet paper after using a bidet–to truly save paper.
