How much paper in America gets recycled ever year?

    In 2005, 42 million tons of paper was recycled.  This is about fifty percent of all paper products.  All of the recycled materials that year amounted to about 79 million tons.

    Paper recyling increased from 2005 to 2006, the EPA reports that 44 million tons of paper and paper products were recycled in 2006.  A total of 85 million tons of paper was used in 2006, which makes the recycling rate a little under fiftty percent, a higher rate than other recyclable materials.
