The average adult consumes approximately 7-8 liters of air per minute (1/4 cubic foot), or 11,000 liters (388 cubic feet) in one day. 20 percent of the air we breathe is made of oxygen, 15 percent of which is exhaled back out, and the other fiver percent is converted to carbon dioxide. So in terms of oxygen alone, the average adult uses 550 liters (19 cubic feet) of oxygen in a single day. Sedentary adults consume less, and active adults will consume more.
An adult human in rest inhales 1.8 to 2.4 grams of oxygen per minute. This amounts to more than 6 billion tonnes of oxygen inhaled by humanity per year
