Keep in mind too that though there are many trees together producing oxygen, extraneous circumstances can actually negate the oxygen produced. The rainforest for a long time was thought to be the “lungs of the world” given the density of trees and year round oxygen production. But in fact, the decomposition of the massive amount of plant matter consumes just about as much oxygen as is made by the trees.
