How much of our modern medicine was found in the rainforest?

It is estimated that around 120 prescription medications sold worldwide are originally derived from rainforest plants. In addition, it is estimated that thousands of traditional and holistic drugs have been obtained from these resources. That being said, less than one percent of rainforest species have been tested for medicinal properties, a statistic which has driven the environmental cause of preserving the land in order to study it further.
