The amount of oil that has been recovered is still being debated. The White House has said that 75% (150,000,000 gallons) of the oil is gone either through skimming, burning, or natural resources.
Researchers and students at the University of Georgia, however, disagree greatly. They estimate that 70-79% of the oil still remains. Meaning only 21-30% (42,000,000-60,000,000 gallons), of the 200 million gallons spilt, has been recovered.
