Oil is considered a non-renewable resource for a reason. Consider this: the oil that we are currently using is made from decomposing organic matter from the Jurassic period. It takes millions of years, at least, for plants and animals to break down, become pressurized and heated enough to become crude oil. While it’s possible that trace amounts of new oil are being made, the process is so long that we wouldn’t be able to calculate it within tens of thousands of years, nevermind one.
