How much oil drilling in the Arctic is still going on?

Most of the oil well drilling in Alaska at present is not wildcat exploration, but simple development of existing fields. In May 2010 there were 10 active drill rigs in Alaska. In summer 2010, Cairn Energy announced the presence of hydrocarbons in a well offshore the SE coast of Greenland. There is likely oil field development drilling ongoing in the Arctic regions of northern Siberia, both onshore and offshore.
