Ecuador exported about 486,000 barrels of oil a day in 2009. This adds up to over 177 million barrels over the course of the year. So much oil is exported that 50% of Ecuador’s export revenue is from the oil industry. It is also responsible for about 25-30% of the national GDP and 30-40% of total government revenue.
486,000 barrels per day is Ecuador’s total production. Crude oil exports are about 350,000 barrels per day.
