Although its almost impossible to tell how much oil may be laying under the ground, ever since the oil embargo of the 1970’s we have kept a strategic oil reserve. It began with 727 million barrels, and was recently approval to reach one billion. However, the EPA has estimated there may be as many as 25 billion barrels of oil under the ground. But in the end, only time will tell.
I hope this helped!
According to a survey conducted, the estimated number of reserves left in the U.S. is around 21,320,000,000 bbl. This encompasses about 1.58% of the total estimated amount left in the world. The United States is ranked 12th, with Saudi Arabia, Canada, and Iran rounding the top 3 with the most estimated number of oil reserves.
