NY’s solar thermal plan, which calls for one million new solar thermal systems, is estimated to save the state $175million annually. This is the statewide estimate however, not just for NYC.
An estimated 175 million dollars will be saved by residents every year with the new solar plan which hopes to install over 1 million solar units. Because over half of the energy used in the buildings of the city of New York goes to heating and hot water, the monetary benefits of solar energy would be felt quickly by individuals not putting as much of their wallet’s toward the bills.
