In 1990 the world was producing 300000 GWh (20 quadrillion Btu) of electricity from renewable sources. By 2000 this figure increased to around 400000 GWh. By now it’s around 555000 GWh and is projected that by 2020 it will further grow to 780000 GWh, and by 2030 900000 GWh.
