How much more energy does a pregnant woman use than a non pregnant woman?

    “The National Academy of Sciences recommends that pregnant women eat an average of 150 calories more per day in the first trimester and 350 calories more per day in the two subsequent trimesters than they did before becoming pregnant.” So, if you assume a 2000 calorie diet, that would be about 17.5% more energy per day during the third trimester.
