There are three basic types of conversion kits on the market to increase a car’s fuel efficiency. The first is HID (High Intensity Discharge) conversion that replaces halogen lights with HID headlights. The second is water fuel cell conversion that transitions a vehicle to run on water instead of gasoline as a fuel source. The third kind of conversion kit is the plug-in hybrid. The plug in conversion significantly reduces greenhouse gas emissions. A plug-in conversion on a Prius can enable the car to run purely on electricity for speeds up to 35 mph, for a distance of up to 40 miles.
