How much more efficient is nuclear power than coal power?

    The average efficiency for a coal-fired power plant is 31%, whereas nuclear power plants can push efficiencies to percentages in the upper 90s.  The cost of power and operation of each is about the same, with coal being slightly more expensive over the last few years.
