How much more carbon does a coal plant emit than a nuclear power plant?

Nuclear power plants do not emit any greenhouse gases. The concern with them is how to dispose of nuclear waste.  As for coal plants, it is difficult to give exact numbers but the Union of Concerned Scientists states that the average coal plant, which is 500 megawatts, produces 3.7 million tons of CO2.  Carbon dioxide is not the only emission that results from coal burning plants.  Other gases include sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxide, and also lead, mercury and arsenic.
