But as a very general answer to your question, average annual expenditures for a consumer are $19,626.8. If we simply divide this by 365 days a year, the average consumer in the U.S. spends $53.77 a day. This number includes average health care costs, money spent on entertainment, transportation, housing, food, etc. As far as how much is spent a day in America, there are 307,006,550 people in America, but it wouldn’t really be accurate to multiply average cost per person by population, simply because not everyone is average or spends the average amount per day (the average is skewed by really rich people, bills are payed once a month, not every day but are factored into average, etc).
