While constructing a green house will have a higher initial cost than constructing a regular house, the expense will ultimately be worth it in savings. “Green” and certified lumber costs about 10% more than non-certified lumber and the price of purchasing and installing solar panels. However, in the long run, the savings on energy as well as the decreased environmental impact will make the initial costs worth it. Additionally, some of the costs of expensive options such as solar panel may be offset by spending less than normal on recycled materials which cost less than their brand new equivalents.
